The EGR discharge tube is very close to the intake runners for cylinders 1, and especially 2. The plate creates turbulence to distribute the gasses more evenly when the valve opens. About the only thing removing it can cause, is a misfire or stumble from too much EGR on the front two cylinders. It will not gain anything by removing it.

EDIT:
You can see the discharge tube at the bottom of this image. The black soot is from EGR:

Totally up to you. If it acts up, you might want to think about replacing it. One thing to always remember with vehicles: The manufacturer never installs a part unless it is absolutely necessary.

could i fit 2 inch wheel adapters on my blazer? or what is the max inches i can go without rubbing.....i have 31x10.50x15s on it now and when i crank the wheel hard i rub on the inside so i was thinking some wheel adapters to give it a wider track and stop the rubbing on the inside

Exclamation Hello World

Hello World

Recently got a 2001 chevy xtreme, It's not in the best condition interior wise but cant complain for the price I got it for. I am looking to replace the whole interior got a lot work to do. I need to know what year models are compatible from the interior before I start to looking. Any help you guys can provide is much appreciated.

Google scrub radius and see what you will do to the front end geometry by spacing your wheels.
