Default 4X4 Troubles

I happened to see that my 4x4 was inop when I was on my mail route one day in a torrential downpour. The electronic shift panel was dark and nothing worked. I looked at all the obvious fuses and they were all good, and then the other day I was checking my overhead console lights...They did not work! The fuse for the courtesy lights was the one disabling my 4X4 switch and thus my 4X4 drive. Make sure you check the courtesy light fuse in the side/dash fuse panel before you get all worked up like I did. I am still putting that 4X4 switch
in just in case all of the in/out I have done on my years on the route have burned the contacts and caused the switch to blow the fuse. Hope this helps someone. Sgt. C.
