Default 82 Blazer

Hello everyone, this is the first forum that I have joined. I have read a lot of the thread on this site and have gotten an enormous amount of help from you guys. Well, I have an 82 k-5 Blazer that has been sitting in my garage for the past 10 years or so. It has a crate 350 4-bolt main in it. In my excitement to get it back on the road again when I installed the battery I reversed it (pos on neg, neg on pos). The fusible link burnt, I cut it and spliced on another and the truck fired right up but the alternator was not working. I replace the alternator thinking that I had fried it, the truck fires right up but there was smoke coming from the fuse box underneath the dash. Please offer any suggestions.
Thank you in advance. I will send pics later this weekend.

Welcome to the Blazer Forum.

Looking forward to the Pics of your ride.

As for the electrical problem, please post the problem and question in the appropriate section. I would suggest the "Lighting & Electrical".
