93 in British Columbia
Hello, I just got a 93 blazer for a steal of a deal. Went to check it out, was for sale for 500 bucks. The tire was flat, and the battery was toast. It had been parked for a year cause it was stalling on the guy I got it from. Put a boost to it, and it started up but ran funny with a clicking noise, good thing it was dark, I could see the spark jumping off the distributor where plugwire 5 should have been. I carry extra junk in my other car so I grabbed a plugwire, put it on, and it smoothed right out. Plugged in the compressor, blew up the tire, and the guy let me have it for 300 bucks cause some stuff is wrong with it. Drove it home.
What I got:
1993 blazer tahoe LT green in color
200,000KM
A/C works, leather interior tan in color
Power everything, aftermarket CD player
Digital dash
push button 4x4, works great
4.3 vortec V6 - no leaks
Remote oil filter mounted beside air filter to make changing it a snap
BFG All Terrain tires about 80% left, new factory spare on rear rack.
Started working on it today, and this is what Ive done so far.
-New NAPA sure start battery
-Tune up, plugs x6, wires, distributor, rotor, pcv valve, fuel filter (was almost plugged completely causing the stalling)
-Added 2L solvent to crankcase and ran for 15 minutes, drained out the sludge and debris, it was 10000KM over the oilchange sticker on the window. Added new 10/30 oil and filter.
-K&N air filter
-Taillight bulbs, signals, markers, interior lights - all new bulbs.
-Lucas Oil fuel additive - injector cleaner and upper cylinder lube.
-remove broken temp sender unit, install new one, top up coolant.
Going to pull the wheels tomorrow and have a look, I had the left front tire off today to change the plugs and the brakes and frontend look great, no leaks, tight front end. Will need to adjust the rear brakes, so I doubt it will need shoes.
What i am going to do this week:
-Flush brake fluid, and do any brake work that needs doing
-Flush Power Steering
-Service the auto transmission
-Service T-Case and both differentials, new axle seals if needed.
-Rotate tires.
-Cleanup engine bay and detail the black plastic parts, acid wash the aluminum.
-Polish the exterior, might wait till summer for this.
This looks like a promising little camping truck for pulling our trailer with and for the woman to do her daily driving with. Cant beat the price we paid for it.
Wish list:
Body lift a couple inches
New black bumpers, the front one has a small dent in it.
armrest for drivers door is missing, go to parts yard for that.
Have a stereo system downstairs to add to it eventually, just have to but the 4 speakers that fit this truck.
Add foglamps behind the grille
broke the handle off the rear gate trying to open it, parts yard for this too.
Black grille and headlight bevels and toss the chrome ones out.

that's about the same deal my youngest brother got when he picked up his '94 SLT, 4WD, 4 door Jimmy in November for $350. black on grey leather, etc, etc. the guy was asking the same as yours, but talked him down to 300 (due to the fenders & no battery), and while shootin' the s**t, he let it slip that it had a 1 month old 1050 CA battery in it. that's why he ended up paying $350 (pretty good deal on the battery too, come to think of it).
other than the cancer on the front fenders, the truck is pretty solid (front cab mounts look like the day it was made). oh yeah, only had 180K on (if i remember right).
be sure to post some picks of your new find.
