Ann Arbor Michigan :-)

Greetings all. Just joined up after reading some helpful posts. I've had my Blazer since new (1998) and it has been a delight to own/drive. 125k on the dial and still running strong.
I have a new daily driver now (Vibe) so the Blazer is now my bad weather/camping vehicle.
As for me, I enjoy the following:
Camping/hiking
Drag racing
SCUBA
Dog sledding and dog shows
My dogs....duh..
Mountain biking
Target shooting
..pretty much anything out doors :-)

Welcome to the forum Will! We enjoy many of the same hobbies. Where do people in Michigan SCUBA dive? You must wear dry suits up there? The water is really cold, isn't it? If you ever come to Florida make sure to look me up, I can put you on some awsome diving.

It is good to see another Michigander here. The site is a plethora of knowledge. It has helped me with numerous problems that I have had.

Welcome from New Zealand. For camping you need the Blazer camper package!

That is a cool "bed" thingy. I have a pretty sweet ultralight tent for backpacking but when I do sleep in the truck I just lay my Thermarest pad on the floor and that works well. Gives me good headroom to play cards and such.
The Blazer is great for getting back up into the forests on the two tracks and for hauling a lot of creature comforts.
When the temps are below zero in the winter I forgo the tent and sleep in the truck. The same applies for when the temps are over 90.
I have a "redneck" heater/AC unit that I made to keep the inside of the truck (or tent) either warm or cold. I can post pictures if anyone wants to see it.
As for SCUBA in Michigan -- I only wear my drysuit (Viking) if I am diving when there is still ice on the water or when it is below 40. Otherwise I have several nice wetsuits that do the trick. Mostly local lakes but some Great Lakes diving too.
We used to have a condo on Deerfield Beach Fla so I did a lot of diving in Lauderdale and the Keys :-)

Welcome. Sink like a rock in freshwater diving when you forget to pull your extra weights from the last Caymans trip...LOL.
