Bigger doesn't mean safer. Lifted trucks are more prone to rollovers, being as they are top heavy. And you've got to think about getting the carseat in and out not even including getting the baby in. If I were you I wouldn't put my child in a big truck until they were around a year old. I'm an expecting mother who owns a K5 and I won't even let my friend's kids in my truck unless they were at least 1yr old.
A 2" lift wouldn't be bad, but larger than a 4" and it starts to get dangerous.
