So, I started with a tune up, because, you know...buy a new to you vehicle, it probably needs one. Oil change went without issue. Started removing spark plugs, and #4 decided it only wanted to come half way off. My buddy was removing the boot and half the plug came with it. Judging by the color of the ceramic of the half in his hand, it has been broken like this for a while. We got the rest of the plug drilled out, he worked in a shop years ago and knows what he is doing, and now the engine wont stay running. We are still working to figure out what is going on here...so I am not giving up on this beast yet.

 

Welcome to the forum!! Great looking truck! I have a '91 that's two tone red with black interior, but othewise looks just like yours, same condition and style with the 4.3L. My granddad bought her brand new and left her to me when he past. I have 170,00 on her. How many miles are on your truck? You gotta great deal, man!!

 

Tune up is mostly complete, just have to try and run some cleaner in the tank to see if I can get the injectors cleaned up a bit now!

Tom, I have about 193k on the dial, I am hoping it will last a while longer if I take care of it a bit better than the previous owner did!
