Default Engine heat 1997 Blazer

Hi everyone. I have a 1997 chevy blazer and I am not getting the amount of heat I should be. I just replaced the thermostat and the coolant says it's good until -45. What else can I do to increase the heat output. Where I am at right now, it's -28. I believe I should get sufficient heat from the 4.3 engine to keep me warm but it's not happening! It's like an icebox in the darn thing. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.BTW I just bought this vechicle so I'm not sure how much heat it supposed to put out.
