Greetings and salutations
Hello Sirs and Madams,
I decided to join this forum after a lot of reading over the past few weeks. There seems to be a wealth of knowledge here from good folk. I intend to contribute to the good of the forum and community as well as receive the same from my peers.
I am a fond owner of a 1987 GMC Jimmy Sierra Classic. The only modifications made to date are the installation of a Rough Country six inch suspension lift and upgrade of wheels and tires to 20x10 Lexani Vertec off road wheels with 35/12.50/20 Nitto Mud Grappler tires. I also purchased a top with sliding windows from a local part yard. All these changes have been made within the past few weeks.
Future plans include changes to the powertrain, suspension and interior. I have a complete small block stroker with all the goodies eager to find its way to the Jimmy's engine bay. The upgrade from stock 5.7 TBI will be accompanied by a transmission/transfer replacement from stock 700R4/NP208 to a TH400 or NV4500 bolted to an NP241. To accommodate the increase in power and torque, factory differentials will be replaced with a 14 bolt 4.10 with locker, disc brakes and 64" springs. A dana 60 will be up front. A shackle flip along with hd shackles and greasable bushings will be installed as well. The interior will remain unchanged except for the panels which will be upgraded to diamond aluminum. I plan and hope to have all this done before May...motor possibly this weekend.
I have/take pics of all progress which I will soon post for everyone to check out! I will keep you guys up-to-date. BTW...Happy Easter to all! Don't get me wrong, I enjoy a loaded Easter basket as much if not more than most, BUT, let us remember and honor the true meaning of the holiday!!!
Romans 5:8
But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
