Default Hello all, new Blazer owner

Hello all, I've been lurking here the past 2 weeks or so since Ive had my blazer but held off on registering until I got it back from the shop. Had the heater core redone, and a few other things I couldn't do in my driveway Anyway, I live in Silver spring Maryland, right outside of DC. My previous car (97 taurus GL with a fair amount of audio work) is starting to die out on me(bad tranny, who would have thought that? lol) and it costs more to fix then I paid for the car. So I decided to get a Blazer. After a Few weeks of looking I found a 96 two door with 150,000 miles on it for $1400 dollars. Needs some work, but where would the fun be if it didn't? First thing first though I need to master driving a 5 speed But anyway, here's my 96 that me and my friends have dubbed "Sad Panda"

^this is the most worrying thing for me. The guy I got this from said someone busted out the back window and stole a fair ammount of stuff, and did try to get the blazer. As you can see in another picture, the column is taped up and this little after market ignition was put in. However the wheel lock doesnt work and it seems pretty easy to steel right now also the rear defroster was never hooked back up

Anyway, hope to stick around for a while and have a good time.

yea, late edit on that Anyway, that's what he said happened. As a result he did that himself and got the back window replaced, and for whatever reason the rear defroster was never hooked back up. I don't even have a switch for it. As for that back, yea, could have been a body Gonna either try and steam clean it or just replace it. Not sure yet.

Lot of potential there.

I agree. Where is the fun if everything is perfect.

Yea, hopefully this weekend is sunny and dry. One of my good friends is going to help me change the water pump and oil cooler lines (he owns a 86 blazer) and I am going to try to get all the paneling up and try to figure out what to do with the rear defroster. Also going to try to change the relays for the heat/AC and see if I can get it working.
