Hi!
My name is Shawn and wanted to introduce myself and tell you a little about my ride or ride to be... hmm that has a scary ring to it... ride to be.
Lets see I live in Wisconsin am married and have 3 kids oh... I am an install tech for a security company blah blah...
Anyway I'm going to pick up an 86 k5 blazer with a 3/4 ton frame and a 6.2 stock diesel motor whoo!
I'm very excited at the oppertunity to make this a nice ride but I'm going to need some help! I've allready had some negative feedback from a friend who tells me that this truck is going to be nothing but problems for me... I hope hes wrong cause this will be the nicest vehical I ever owned and I dont particularly appreciate hisugly feedback.
This will be the first diesel I have ever owned... I plan on making biodiesel with my boss at the shop but I'll ask more about that after I get her running.
Lets see... oh yeah, It has approximately 6000 orginal miles on the truck, no thats not a typo it really only has that many miles. I guess it used to be a fire dept vehical at one time and did alot of sitting. only has one small spot of rust on driver side bottom part of window which I intend on fixing because the window is allready out.
I need to put on new leaf springs bolts and bushings cause thier shot. and I plan on doing some painting to it... nothing fancy. The hood used to have fire truck stickers on it... and the previous owner removed it and then started sanding the hood down. the intent was to duplicolor the hood, fiberglass cap and bed rails. I am planning on following thru with this idea because it should add some durability to the truck. and keep it from rusting.
Lets see.. the flasher lights were removed and tossed... pretty much all thats left is some interiorwork(more bed liner I guess) stearing wheel needs to get put back on and the console is all ripped apart... but should be pretty minor to take care of.
I'll be sure to post some pics as I'm going to start work on the truck hopefully this week and weekend!
Later!
