I just picked up an 86 K5 that definately needs some work. Im not new to repairing/restoring trucks or cars but this is my first K5. Ive always wanted one and this on had the right price on it. Im sure Ill be here quite a bit soaking up all the knowledge on this site. I'll get some pics up whenever the weather clears up.

 

welcome i have a k5 also. how bad is your rust?

 

It's bad enough that Im gonna have quite a few hours with the welder. The body panels aren't horrible for a MI truck but the underbody is a bit rough.

 

What area? I'm from Redford/Livonia.

 

Opposite side of the state. I'm around Grand Rapids.
