Red face Hi there

Good evening! New member here. Thought I'd join because I inherited my deceased uncle's 2000 GMC Jimmy SLE 4x4. It was 1 owner and currently has 90,500 miles. It was regularly driven small distances & fairly well maintained. Dash has lots of sun damage, but A/C has been charged and works great! I'll keep you updated on any work we do. It's going in the shop next week to have a good look over. Anything I should be looking out for?

Thanks!
Stan

Welcome! Sounds like a nice vehicle!

Biggest problem with these engines is the original intake manifold gaskets. If they leak, they leak into the oil and often cause bearing damage. Best to make sure they have been replaced (Felpro metal/rubber gaskets are much better than the plastic ones). Of course any service engine soon light is also a concern. Make sure 4x4 goes into 4WD! Nothing more irritating than than a 4x4 that won't go in the snow!!
