Im new w/ an 85 s10 blazer and need some help
Hello everyone, I have an 85 s10 blazer with only 93k on it. The interior is great and theres hardly a spot of rust on her. It's been sitting in my back yard for a months at this point because it isn't running. I'm on this forum hoping for some help. I've been told the carb needs to be rebuilt, and I was wondering if anyone knows what it would take financially and mechanically to just switch it over to a fuel injected system. Also, the stock 2.8 v6 seemed underpowered when it was drivable. Are there any recommendations on how to get some more power out of that motor? And finally, my blazer is an automatic, but I'm a much bigger fan of driving a stick. I know its costly, but does anyone have any tips on switching out the auto for a standard? I have a few grand saved up that I was planning on buying a newer truck with, but I have this gorgous blazer in amazing shape, so why not make her run strong again right? Any help on any of these areas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Welcome to the forum. A lot of what you asked has been covered in previous post believe it or not. Use the search function at the top and look for things like "Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) Valve" "Seafoam" and "Throttle Body" for things to do to what you have.
Look for "Exhaust" "Cat Back" "Underdrive Pulley" "Cam Shaft" for things to upgrade
don't forget "Cold Air Intake (CAI)"
as for your conversion Idea, it has been done. for the moneys... get a salvae ride (like junkyard or totaled vehicle) with a stick (not very common) or an S-10 (more common) snake the transmission (rebuild as needed) and get a new clutch. Use that to scavange from.
Search is your frined! erm friend
