Default I'm a newbie

I thought I should at least check in here. I have been posting, I'm glad I found this forum, seems like there are a lot of people here with lots of knowledge. I'm an old school retired mechanic. These computer truck are a new adventure for me. But I'm learning from you people.
We just bought a 1997 Blazer 4x4, we really like it. It is just what we wanted. We owned a Trailblazer 4x4 at one time & liked it. The Blazer has some features we like better. The only advantage to the Trailblazer IMHO is the TB is bigger. Our 97 has the same gear ratio 3:73 with limited slip as our TB did. The Blazer is every bit as good off road. I had to go test that out right away.
Anyway, I'll be around offering what help I can, & learning a bunch I know.
Thanks for having me.

Mechanic? We're always welcoming new members and we're definitely grateful to have more knowledgable mechanics on board!

Welcome to the family and we're going to need to see pics of your offroad test .

I didn't get any photos. Here in Arizona we have some pretty good places to test close to town. I will try & post some this summer when we head into the Nevada back country rock hunting. Our TB was real good off-road but too much plastic too close to the ground. I messed it up a couple of times. The Blazer appears to have more front clearance (BUMPER) & maybe overall never checked. The Blazer is shorter & narrower than the TB comparing inside space. With 3:73s & limited slip it should be fun. NO PLASTIC TO TEAR UP like the TB.

Welcome!! You are lucky you some great places to play! *knock on wood* I've taken my little stocker through a lot and haven't dammaged anything..I always see the trail blazers and they don't look like they have the same amount of clearance...not to mention I hate the body style...that's just me though...glad to have another member who uses their truck...as a truck!
