to actually get into the significance of the complete phrase...wow...that's a history lesson....pretty much the UP of Michigan...even though it's part of Michigan..is really it's own state...or more accurately it's own country...They dislike Wisconsin..and Hate any one under the bridge...referred to as Trolls...it's complicated....

Welcome to the forum. I am from Wisconsin but have lived in the UP for the last 3 years going to school in Houghton at Michigan Tech. Glad to have another Yooper. And yeah paddle_grl hit the nail on the head, although all the true Yoopers I have come across are generally nice people and haven't said anything about hating WI.
Oh and yeah "Strange Brew" is a good movie. Both the UP, MN, and Canadians use eh, but I am not sure why these places or only these places use it.
