Me and my K5
Hi, I have an 83 K5 I have replaced or rebuilt everything on it, minus the engine and the interior... interior is like new engine is not. So, since I am one of the many recently unemployed Americans. I have the time to replace my old worn out, smokey engine with a crate motor, while I still have a few dollars. I have rebuilt one 350 engine years ago, but this is my first crate motor, any advice? I will share my adventures as I go and , of course pictures.

#1 I hate you. I have a job and can't afford my truck.
#2 Welcome to the Forum! I'm amped up to see a fully redone early 80's K series
#3 Cate motor's I have experience in only that I watched my father break one in one time. Not much to go off of, except I bleieve it comes with run time and RPM instructions so you can break her in right. I remember a LOT of ideling and bit bit of revved up idling. Don't go ***** to the wall until you are sure she is warmed up and ready

yep follow the break in procedure, i thinks its 2000 rpm for 15 minutes then varying speeds for the next 500 miles or so. as for the direction you wanna go you need to determine if you want n/a power or aspirated power, then build from there, but remember you cant put gobs of power in without proper drivetrain modifications as well.
