i changed mine out about 15 years or more ago, and mine is a 2000, but I'll tell you what I can. Unbolt the master cylinder from the brake booster. I didn't disconnect any brake lines but I did have to unbolt the ABS module from the fender to move it and the master cylinder forward a bit. To unbolt the brake booster from the fire wall, get small and flexible. Maybe more like liquid. It is bolted high up on the firewall with all manner of beasts blocking your way, with the steering column the worst. Locate the 4 studs with nuts on them, that is your target. Three of them were "easy" to get to, but the fourth I had to grind down a 15mm deep well socket. The other three come off with the deep well easy enough, but the was not enough room to get the socket and the ratchet on the fourth one. I could get a wrench on it but there was no room to turn the nut. Don't forget to remove the vacuum hose of the brake booster and the brake pedal from the rod poking through the firewall from the brake booster.

Once all that is done, return to the engine bay and pull the brake booster out. It will be tight with the master cylinder/ABS module in the way, but it is doable. With your old brake booster and the new sitting side by side, make sure the end of the rod that attaches to the brake pedal are exactly the same and the same length. If not, got back to the parts store to try and find one that is. If all is good with the new brake booster, cut that damn stud that gave you so much trouble when removing the booster down to a proper length so that if you ever need to change it out again it will be much easier. Just button everything up in reverse and you should be good to go.

Thank you for that information. Could you tell me a list of all the tools I am going to need to have for this job please? And would you say it was easier without taking off any brake lines or would it be easier to if if I decided to take them off the master cylinder? Thanks
