I used to have 96 4 door 4x4 Blazer back on 2003. I really enjoyed it. It was my commuter, family car, work truck, and toy all in one. Originally, I bought is as a temporary car to replace a 2002 Trailblazer that was stolen. I ended up keeping it for over 5 years. I've always missed that little Blazer and had it in the back of my head that I wanted another. I found the right project Blazer and have been having some fun bringing it back to life. This time I bought a 1986 2.8 4x4.
the paint is sun baked, but the interior is surprisingly well preserved. Except for the driver's seat. The engine is all original and after some tinkering came back to life, with a few minor issues such as a high idle when in gear and headlights that still won't turn on. Also, the radio turns on intermittently. False contact, which I haven't gotten to yet.
Plans for it include a do it myself rustoleum paint job, a double din stereo, tint the windows and some decent tires for trailing. Maybe fix the a/c, Well, more likely I will fix the a/c cause in southwestern AZ it's almost a necessity.
