New Blazer owner from Upstate Washington
#11
Thanks for the decent welcome.
Some parts have arrived from Rock Auto, so I plan to "get to work" tomorrow.
Today, my Bronco II got mad, that I had bought a Blazer, and wouldn't start.
It just needed a little attention, and was fixed without having to buy any new parts.
But this is a Blazer forum, so we won't talk about that one.... OR, the '75 Dodge VAN, I'm working on....

Hahahahahaha...Who says cars don't have feelings at times?

I think it's absolutely TRUE.
That cars have feelings.
I'll tell you the whole story....
I have this '87 Bronco II that I got 8 years ago for 75 bucks. It's ugly as sin, but it ALWAYS starts. Cold, wet, warm, hot, ALWAYS, ALWAYS starts.
EXCEPT today.... I got in it, and it started right up, then died. I had to push it back into my parking spot. It cranked for a bit, then it just did nothing, No click, no anything. Dome light still on.
I popped the hood and messed with the battery cable ends. Took them off, wire brushed them back to shiny, changed one of the silly universal battery clamp ends, removed the battery cables from the starter solenoid/relay thing on the inner fender, cleaned them up as well. You know...just gave it all a little "loving", a little TLC as it were. Turned the key, and it fired right up. Now, the OIL light was on, so I gave it a quart of oil, and said nice things to it for a bit. NOW... it's running just fine, again.
Didn't cost me anything but time. (already had the oil)
Silly Bronco II. A car with feelings.... ;-D
