Being 7/8 years old I guess one should expect some issues to crop up.
I've had to replace the front swaybar bushes & starter motor (battery connection on solenoid broke off).
I took the truck to Murawai beach & got stuck 'cause the 4wd would not engage 4x4. Turned out to be a perished vacuum line.
I've also had a Check Engine light come on (3 times) each time I had Bunce reset the computer. Code was P1870 which is effectively a transmission issue (a sticky valve) & I have booked it in with AUTO TRANS in Mt. Eden to have it repaired. (Thank goodness for the extended warrenty - it will however cost me $350.)
Otherwise the truck is good. MPG is bad.
So far the mods are:
Smoked euro tail lights off e-bay
Changed colour of the emblem on the grill from gold to black/red
Painted the chrome strip section of the grill black
Roof lights I made up myself with an old roof rack rail & lights from Supercheap Auto - Once my friend has moved into his new house he'll help with the wiring - should be in 2 weeks.

Also, I have just this evening ordered a cold air intake off e-bay which, with a bit of luck should be here in 2-3 weeks. It sucks having to pay more in freight than what you're buying but it is still cheaper than buying through the likes of Bunce Motor Co. in Wairau Park. If they have it in stock. I let them do the repairs & servicing at least untill the extended warrenty expires.

Stick with this forum Craig, lots of usefull info from lots of interested people. Any questions & you'll get a lot of help.

Blazinkiwi - Hey Craig, nice Blazer! NiceCamaro too. I didn't like the spare wheel hanging on the back I preferred it hidden underneath. Is your Blazer the LS or LT? Need to get her some smoked taillights - just to make it a little different from others.

f1yrod - Welcome to the forum. Let's see pics!! Any plans yet? From what I've seen from the US members you'll have fun in the snow come winter.

There are loads of Blazers coming into the country at the moment. Potential for lots of forum members. With a bit of luck we can get a New Zealand branch of the forum going seeing that our Blazers are slightly different from the rest.

Any ideas on a new grill?

Mine is damaged. They want $800 for a new one in NZ. I see they are $66 bucks in the usa.

How popular is the mesh grills, do they block off the air and catch the bugs ???
