Just checking in to say hi.
Just picked up our Used 1998, 4 Door, 4WD, 4.3 liter, LS Blazer for $300! Thats right, not a typo, we got it for $300!
The lady who owner it before thought it had a blown Transmission. Turned out to not have any fluid in it. Put some fluid in after she signed the title over to me and drove it away.
This thing is in near mint shape too! Will post some pics later on.

[sm=welcomesign.gif]to the Forum! If that transmission had been run without fluid in it, you might want to put back a couple of grand to replace it in the future.

changed the fluid, gakset, and filter last week. No more than normal wear and tear crap on the magnet. The reason it was out of fluid was, the last owner/shop put a cork gasket on it and over tightened it. That in turned pushed damn near the whole gasket out, and the fluid was pouring out over the top of the pan. Been driving it for a while now and it runs like a top. I bought it with replacing it in mind though. The local junk yard is a U-pull-it-and -pay place. $100 bucks for one that is guarneteed to work, lol!

lucky dog. As far as I know the only junk yard around here is a salvage yard, and they pretty much have every part already inventoried and you basically pay somewhere around 75% of what it costs new.
