Hi everybody,
I recently picked up a 93 blazer 4x4. It had a bad motor. (Rods let go). 4.3l vortec that had the balance shaft. Was a head scratcher for sure because I've never heard of a motor having those. Any ways I had a 4.3 out of 1500 truck. I sawpped the heads and I'm going to put it back in. However I noticed that when the rods blew through the pan it blew a sizable hole in the front diff. I was thinking of buying different axles for it with gears that accommodate bigger tires. I do t have a lot of experience with axle swaps. Was wondering if anyone had any recommendations on what I could pick up to put in there? I was thinking of possibly doing an SAS.
also if anyone else can point me in the right direction for a decent SAS conversion kit I can't seem to find one.
thank you

Dana 44 is what most folks throw in there. Do some research to find what years from what vehicles match the width that you need. So say to go with a D30, but it is no stronger than the IFS you have, minus the hole in the diff case. If you are looking for different gearing up front, and I'm sure you already know this, don't forget to change the gearing in the back.
The only company I know of that made a kit, though I don't know if the still do, is Diversified Creations in MI. The kits were made for ZR2's, so I'm not sure if the work on non Z's. The kits was made for a 6" or 8" lift.
