I personally Have a Haynes manual for my Blazer.. But really I don't think it would really matter they both do a good job with the information

Neither. Get the factory service manual. The 1987 Chevrolet Light Duty Truck manuals are what you want.

Welcome. I have the shop manual for my '86 and it came with an addendum that included the wiring diagrams. Got from rock auto parts.

You will likely get some of the wiring diagrams in the Service manual, but the wiring manuals get into specifics that typically are not included in the general service manual.
