New guy
Howdy, just picked up a 97 2 door 4wd Blazer for $650. Fixed the engine issue for free, the mechanic put it back together wrong so I got it cheap. Course with 170k on it, it was behind on maintenance. So far I replaced the shocks, tie rods, pitman and idler arms, ball joints, wheel hubs, brake pads, rotors, control arm bushings, a cv boot, grille, mirrors, radio, 4wd switch, ac switch, ac compressor, plugs, wires, cap and rotor, seat tracks, the list goes on, suffice to say I now have a minty truck for much less than blue book.
I just signed up tonight so I could read up on the 4wd problems on these rigs. Looks like its the motor, apparently that's a common issue, but right now I'm tired of being underneath the thing, lol. Will be a while before I get around to modding it, but interested to see what you guys have done, so I'll be lurking around. See ya!

Found it, I used a diagnostic tool to check for codes, don't know if it reads the TCCM or just the ecu, I will tinker with it tomorrow after i get the alignment done, but I'm pretty sure I will end up under the truck again.

Depends what scan tool you have
you need one of those expensive ones the shops have to pull the 4x4 codes

Welcome from NC! Seems like you have replaced the whole front end lol.

Pretty much did the whole front, little tip on control arm bushings, the bushings are stronger than the control arm, the shop charges less than making a mistake, but how else do you learn. I have been to Winnepeg btw, and to Charlotte, spending most of my time between AR and VA right now. And yes I search, I try to be a well behaved newb, lol.
