New guy from ct203!

Hello! I'm new this site. Actually, new to the Blazer world. I am very into traditional rods n kustoms. Decided to try something different, this time around.
I picked up a 99 2DR 4WD Chevy Blazer. Payed $600 for it then drove it home. It's got a knock in the motor. I am looking for a new used motor...with preferably low to equal amount of miles on the motor, I have now.
Other than changing the motor, I want to drop the Blazer a few inches, to close up the fender to wheel gap some. Sites not have to be slammed...just need it to be aesthetically appealing to me. So, lowering it some, is definitely going to happen! Since I am an AUTOBODY tech by trade, I will tackle the body and paint work myself.
I've read countless posts with others asking why lower a 4WD. For the money I had to spend....and being in the New England area, there's way more 4wd Blazer...than the 2wd versions. I am just going to build it my way!
Look forward to chatting it up with all of you. I hope to learn allot. Maybe, someone will learn something from me, along the way. Till then......
