Default New guy in LA

Friday I’m buying a 2000 4 door 4x4. It’s in good shape, daily driving an hour each way as we speak. Buying from a spacex coworker so I figure he’s mechanically inclined enough to trust. The problem is, I’m not in love with it. I want a 2 door. But it’s a good deal and maybe I’ll just sit on it with a same money ad on Craiglist.

Unless you folks can inspire some cool ****.

Photos imminent

As for 2dr vs 4dr. The 4dr definitely has more room but it all depends on what you want to do with it. I tow my boat and go to the woods and I also needed something to now and then carry people so I got the 4wd/4dr and added a bit of a lift and improved the cooling system.

You plan on doing mods to it? Lifting or lowering?

mine started stock, wanted a 2 door but family was too big for that so got a 4 door. 99 4x4 4 door lt, swapped in heated leather seats and a black dash, lifted, added a 2 door tire carrier and a brush guard, 2wd rims.

Today. Theres build threads you should check out, we have everything from plain jane to crawlers and more. Mine is just a DD who can take beaten path in the middle of the woods.

On my way to pick her up, thanks for the welcome!
My girlfriend and I love camping so we decided to build her out for that. Small lift, or maybe some fender cutting and bigger tires with deavers and bilsteins.

Yeah I drove her around for a couple hours yesterday, and can feel her age. She slams into reverse pretty hard and AC clutch isn’t spinning. For a 20 year old truck with 160 on the clock though, she seems to have been well cared for. From what I can see nothing is missing under the hood, always a good sign haha

It's a nice ride!

I got a small 2.5 lift on mine, and I use it to pull around my 3500lbs tent trailer for the summer. Shes great, gets me where I'm going and pulls everything I've hooked up. Even pulled a forklift out of the mud lol
