Howdy! I am a new member ... hoping to find tips and tricks to further extend the life on my 1999 Blazer LS 2-Dr 2-WD with 290,000 miles. I bought it summer of 2000 for $17,000 at 37,000 miles from Enterprise as an ex-rental. It's been a great vehicle ... very little trouble, never had the heads off. I owe it all to excellent regular maintenance (I keep a spreadsheet for maintenance schedule and costs ... I find an average of $0.065/mile for maintenance) and regular Tribotech treatments (one of those super-lube oil additives)... until Tribotech went out of business a few years ago. It's my daily driver with many, many easy freeway miles on it. Current problems to be explored: fan clutch seems to have failed, AC compressor leak = no cold air, I realize that I am still running the original Starter Motor ... and I hear some bearing noises from rear end. Otherwise ... all is good. -- Eric in Kingman, AZ.
