I just found this site through another link while searching for the 4x4 cable mod. I currently own a 2001 blazer LT 4X4, 4door, 4.3 vortec, auto thats my daily driver. I also have a 91 2 door 4X4 blazer 4.3, auto that's my on going project when I have time and good weather to mess with it (just going to be a play toy), I'm replacing the bad engine and got to repair some wiring under the hood due to some friendly field mice/rats where it was sitting. I look forward to checking the sit out more.

If I can just get the engine fixed and put back in it. I may put a little lift under the body since I had to take it loose and raise it up just to get to the top bell housing bolts.

Welcome to the forum. Was the Posi-lock 4wd mod for the project ride, or the DD? If it's for the 2001, make sure you dont have the 4wd Auto option, otherwise you will create a nightmare for yourself. it you're a 3 button you're good.

UH OH ! YES IT WAS FOR THE 2001 AND I DO have the auto option! so does that mean I CAN'T do the cable mod? I never use the auto option, I either use 2wd or 4wd never auto, I only tried it once just to see IF it worked.
