G'day All,
My names Wayne from Sydney, dont have a Blazer at the moment but the missus is from Kansas and has a soft spot for chevy's so we are looking at a Blazer in the new future..
Looking around all the ones we can get here at the moment are ones imported from Japan.. Most are from 1999 to 2002, just wondering if there is anything we should look out for when we go looking at them..
My current car has an LS1 in it so know a little about them but I know bugger all about the vortex 4.3 how are the 4.3l engines as far as reliability wise etc..

Cheers,

Wayno

welcome ot the show brother.

the only difference from the NA Blazer/Jimmy's and the Japan issued ones, is they screwed up when they put in the steering wheel (and related components)

sorry, just yankin' your chain brother.

seriously though, while i've never had any major issues any of my 1st or 2nd gen Blazer's/Jimmy's or S10's, it really is a crap shot on how well your truck was taken care of. i realize you haven't bought one yet, i'm just using the possesive term for conversation sake.

the Vortec engines are great little motors, and should fill all of your needs. personally, i'd stay away from an Auto-4WD truck (commonly refered to as a 4-button) simply because the TCCM (Transfer Case Control Module) is nearly impossible to find used over here (can't even imagine about overseas) & expensive to service (for most people)

i could go on and on (as a majority of the members would probably tell you) but if you just take a bit of time, read through the 2nd gen S-series Tech section, you'll get an idea of what to watch for when looking for your truck.

GL with your search, and be sure to keep us up to date if you manage to find one.
