Hi y'all,
New guy here, old S10 owner....
So I just blew up the second 4.3 motor in my S-20 Blazer...wtf????
First one died in NM at 80 mph, my oil pressure goes to zero and Bang....
apparently the oil lines to my oil filter broke and..well, rod went thru the block...understandable...but not really......then my new/used motor spins a main or something just as ugly after only 10K miles....geez, apparently I can't drive an automatic !!! Is it just me, of do we have issue here??
Just joined this tribe, so I haven't read any threads yet...are there issues with the 4.3 V6 I shoud know about?? I just order a crate motor from Chevy to replace my poor POS...What should I be worried about for the next 30K miles????
Thanks in advance,
GT

breaking her in. if it's a crate, follow the instructions, dont wing it.

I smoked my original engine by forcing water through the air intake. you live and you learn.

you already met mr. leaky oil lines... do a search for "common annoying" and a 25 page diatribe will pop up on every flaw known to Blazerdom

Thanks, ABN,
I'll do the search thing....(I've got about three weeks before I get it back from the shop)...just sux that these things come up....my S-10 pickup has had no such issues, lol....but it's a
91 and only had suffered 77k miles....hmm.....the '98 had barely 92 on the first motor...are the oil lines that suspect for failure?
