Default New member here with a question.

Is there a way to disconnect 4x4 without disconnecting the shaft and sensor? I have a 2000 jimmy and I have a problem with vacuum to the 4x4 that when I connect the line I hear grinding. I just don't want to deal with it now but do want to keep it 4x4

Simplest way to disable the 4x4 system until you can repair it is to pull the fuse that controls the system. On my '02 it's fuse 15 on the side of the dash, and it's a 10A fuse labelled "4WD".
