Just joined on here earlier today and have been browsing around looking at stuff.

I've owned a 1994 blazer when I was like 16 now being 22 im out of my car stage and looking into another blazer.

Currently im working on selling my 01 lexus is300 and as soon as that happens ill be blazer shopping.

So I looked around and search alittle bit for opinions on the ZR2's and couldnt find to much or what im exactly looking for I suppose.

Basically im just seeing if they are worth getting a ZR2 since it already lifted more than a normal blazer. Is here certain problems to look for in a ZR2 than a normal blazer? Ive read that the mpg is horrible on the ZR2's is it that much of a difference than a regular 2d blazer? Currently get only like 210 miles to a full tank city driving in my lexus on a 15 gal tank so im use to bad.

I found a ZR2 near me for sale by a used car lot i believe for $2999

http://chicago.craigslist.org/nwc/ctd/1764040482.html

theres the link to the craigslist add

As you can see in the picture the check engine light is only so im hoping its just a o2 sensor or something simple to just fix

For $3k you guys think its a deal? Ive been finding some expensive ones at dealerships for like $6k with more miles so I figured get this for $3k and put a few hundred dollars into a major tune up and all should be well?

Just let me know some opinions or point me in the direction or a specific thread maybe as I looked and searched various threads here and on zr2usa.com.

Thanks in advance and cant wait to get off the road muddin again like the old days haha..

Welcome from Peoria....

I would say that the problems are the same all the way around... and its about 2inch higher roughly I think...

The dealerships will be overpriced (compared to private party), Just be sure to make sure the 4x4 works... and Goodluck

Welcome from the NW corner of IL, I have a 2004 zr2, and a 2001 gmc jimmy, both 2 doors. and I would say its really doesn't matter they all can have there problems, but mileage is a little worse on the zr2. The biggest issue I would say is finding one that everything works and you fit in, I fit in the jimmy better than and zr2, the seats are different, but I'm also above average in height, so fit is very important for me, all I can say is take your time and do lot of looking around.

A good friend of mine needed a car and bought a 96-97 blazer at auto auction... He spent 1000 on the blazer, and about 500 dollars later its a decent blazer, just be careful....
