Hello everyone,
New here from Montana. We just bought a 2001 4 door LT 4x4. My main purpose with the Blazer is as a backup winter vehicle and as a fun knock-around for taking the dogs to the river (puppy tank), hauling the mountain bikes around, and just for fun in general. Blazers scream fun.
We scored this little gem for a paltry $1500 due to a salvage title. It shows 118K on the clock. I ran a CarFax on it and it was indeed involved in a roll-over during a nasty snow storm we had here back in December. It was then totaled, but from what I can tell all damage has been repaired. It is throwing a "check engine soon" light, which I'm betting is the 1870 tranny code everyone talks about. At first it was shifting a bit harshly, but I've driven it for a couple days now and it's been smooth as butter, so not sure. It runs strong and smooth, goes straight as an arrow and hardly has any rattles or leaks. The sunroom mechanism seems a little screwed, and it leaks a bit of air, but overall the little bugger is pretty clean and tight.
Our other vehicles include a 2012 Malibu LTZ and a 2003 Silverado 2500HD (6L). We also have some other fun rides like a 1968 Camaro and some motorcycles.
My intent here on the forum is to learn about my Blazer, make some mild modifications and upgrades, and with luck even spread a little knowledge. Thanks for having me.
