New member, son has a 2002 Blazer 2-dr
Hello, new member here. My 21-yr old son has an '02 Blazer 2-dr. I do all the work on it. Trying to teach him, but all he cares about is his X-Box360. I have replaced front and rear brake pads on it. He got a Pioneer HU for Christmas that I am in the process of installing. Had problems getting the right plug adapter for it. Going to replace the heater core in it today. Have been reading these forums all evening, reading all I can on that job.
I drive a '90 C1500 Chevy, rcsb. It has a 4/6 drop, with DJM spindles, springs, and flip kit. I did it myself. I have a 355 in it I dropped in a couple of years ago.
Been working on cars ever since I can remember. I was raised by a mechanic, and around mechanics.
Hope to learn what I need to about Blazers, and hopefully can help others when I can. I am fairly knowledgeable about car audio (been doing installs for over 20 years).
Anyway, just wanted to make a quick post in here so everyone will know about me some.

Make your son work on his own stuff... trust me on this. He will not show it any care or respect otherwise.. especially blasting his music on that new stereo. Speaking for myself, I didnt show my dad-purchased vehicle much thought, but I did when I had something *I* had to work on or sit home!
Not throwing off on your child, but as an overall observation on kids of the last 10 years.. it blows my mind how so few of them even care to have a drivers license, let alone care about a set of wheels.... I'm mid 40's now, but when I was 13 I could not WAIT to be 15 so I could drive! Good luck with the heater core job, it's about the worst thing you can do on these trucks.

I agree with you on their mindset. He does come out and help me, or try to at least. He actually does try to take care of it, to the best of his ability. He says something anytime he hears a noise that he normally doesn't hear, or smells something he hasn't smelled before.
Which is better- the Haynes manual, or the Chilton manual? I can get either one for $26.99 locally.

Welcome from Alberta. There's lots of errors in both the Chilton's and Haynes manuals. Not that there aren't any errors on the internet either, but in general you'll get better advice on here than from those manuals.
