Howdy yall! I’m a new member from Texas. I recently retired as a jet engine engineer and am also an FAA licensed aircraft airframe and powerplant mechanic and a U.S. Navy disabled veteran. I’ve worked in aviation for almost 40 years but I’ve always loved old cars and love working on them, at least when I’m not throwing tools. I currently own a very nice 1986 C10 that I’ve done a lot of work on. I also own a 1983 K5 Blazer that I’m finishing up a multi-year restoration/modification on. In addition, I just picked up my most favorite car, a 1973 Pontiac Firebird that needs a full restoration also which I’ll start after I finish the Blazer in a couple of months. I look forward to chatting with you all and reading your posts. I’ll also try to help others, as well. In fact, I’ll be posting some issues with my Blazer shortly in hopes of getting some help. Thanks, everyone!
My ‘86 C10/350/700R4/New Vintage digital gauges/QA1 front suspension/rear flip kit and C-notch. I just finished painting my Blazer after a multi-year frame off restoration. It’s not perfect but it is to the best of my skills, tools and facilities. I’m going to use it for mild off-roading, kayaking and camping. I’ll be installing a new GM crate SP350/385HP/400Torque, custom built 700R4 and an NP208 transfer case. My dream car, a 1973 Firebird. I couldn’t find a T/A that my wife would let me spend that much money on, Lol!
Welcome to the forum, @TexasSquarebodyBill! You have an impressive collection of vehicles, especially the dreamy '73 Pontiac Firebird. Wishing you smooth rides, and successful restorations.
