New from outside of Philly
Posting to say hi and so I can actually try to get some parts I need from the For Sale section since I can't even PM anyone yet.
Just picked up an auto '96 Blazer LS for $200 last week. Ran alright, had a slight miss and some front end damage. The kid who owned it hit a deer and traded it rather getting it fixed. My father works at the dealer where it was traded and the wholesalers didn't want it so he offered $200 for it and they took it.
So, $200 + TTT later I have a running truck. I've already put six new plugs in it and found the cause of the miss, a reversed plug wire, and also put new pads up front because I noticed one pad was about a centimeter from being gone completely while changing the plugs.
As far as the damage up front it is mostly passenger side area of the front including the grill, bumper cover, fender, and hood. Already picked up a fender from a UPull but they didn't have anything else I needed so I'm still looking for a grill and maybe a bumper cover. I popped what I could out of the hood and I'm satisfied. I need to pull off the bumper cover and see how bad the bumper is pushed back, already pulled the top of the rad support out a bit because it was pushed back.
Other than that there is an issue with the 4WD, it won't switch into either mode. Going to try and get codes out of it without a real scan tool first. When I got it the vacuum switch Tee wasn't hooked up for some reason so I hooked that back up but there is apparently more to it.
Any other things I should take a look at? It's got almost 150k on the clock.

Welcome from New York. You should also check the encoder motor and the TCCM. For body parts and such try LMC Trucks.

Welcome man.
Thumbs up for trying to fix it.

I was using my Yamaha R6 as my daily until some lady ran a red light and took me out. Plus with winter approaching I want a cage and if I can get the 4WD working that'd be a bonus.
Speaking of the 4WD it appears to be an issue with the Encoder because it will go into 4Lo but not 4Hi. I've got to try resetting the Encoder yet, hopefully that is all it needs.
