Hello Blazer forum. I am 19 and about to go away to college and since my commute to school would be less than 5 miles I sold my purple fuel efficient Honda for a 89 k-5 Blazer Scottsdale. I've only had this Blazer a few weeks and i can't drive it far due to a bad tire, but I am already in love with it. Sometimes I just sit in it and think of what I should do to it next. The only really bad thing about my Blazer is it has a different axle in the back than the front so in 4-wheel drive (only used it once un-aware of the gear difference) it looks like a dog scooting its butt on the carpet. The past few weeks I have been looking around at this forum and it has helped tremendously in the first few repairs. Looking forward to meeting fellow Blazer fanatics and getting some great advice

Welcome! Nice looking K5!

You'll probably want to pop off the diff covers to check out what gears there are front and rear.

I found an axle on craigslist off a 86 k5. It should fit but idk. How would I find the differential size? I joined this site called chiltondiy.com and you can register your vehicle and learn alot about it. This is all it has to say about axles and differentials.

The 10/15 series and 20/25 series trucks use a GMC 81/2 in. ring gear axle.
The 30/35 series trucks use a Dana 60, 93/4 in. ring gear axle.
