Hi everyone. Thought I would join this forum to learn a few things about my new buy. Just bought a 2001 Blazer LS 2 door. Has 191000 miles on it. I did not want to pay much for some rig when we were looking to get something. Most everything we looked at for no more than $1600 was sometimes nice but with a lot of mechanical problems. Or was real nice mechanically and looked like crap. Or worked good looked good but with extreme miles on it. Then we found this 2001 Blazer LS 2 door. It runs really smooth quite and fairly nice inside out. Not perfect. But nice find. It does have its little problems. And the are fixable. Just starting to go through it. I think I am going to like having this thing. I usually drive a sports car like a Vette. Here are a few pictures. And just so you know. It is a Chevy. It has a GMC nose.

Thanks for having me here. Yea. I am hoping to get this new toy fixed up before it becomes a problem. It is a nice find I think. Was not what my wife wanted. She wanted another pickup. That F150 we gave to my grandson three years ago. It was a real nice truck. But a real monster. Way to much power. Fun to drive. But 3-5 miles a gallon average was a bit much. After 10 years gave it away.

The blazer will grow on her. They are fun little rides, if your into vettes, do a 2/3 drop with a v8 swap and she will love it lol.

About that drop. Why are drop kits that I have looked up always lower in the rear? Why aren't the the same drop front and rear?

I have no idea on that one lol. I went up instead of down, but i think it's something about it being level that way.

That's exactly it. Most vehicles (especially trucks) are made higher in the rear so they sit level when loaded. Most people who lower them want them to be level when unloaded.
