Newest Newbe
Hello all.
Just wanted to say enjoyed stalking for a while
but here to stay.
I have had several S-10 Blazers over the years.
My most recent is a 99 with the 4.3 and about
150 K on it.
I replaced the rear disc brake pads, and for some
unknown reason they seem to be hanging up, bad.
To the point of going to the store and back, about
1 1/2 mi. they were smoking pretty good.
Has anyone had this problem?
I replaced the master cyl. to no avail.
I thought maybe a collapsed line...but both
rears at the same time? Unlikley.
My next thought was the brake valve on the
frame.
I thought I would get you fellows input before
throwing to much $ at it without narrowing it down
some. Thanks for any input and a great site too, Al.

Welcome from Utah.
I believe that the rears are both run from the same line so check that out. Also, throw a couple of searches on this site on your issue and I'm sure you will probably find your answer.

Thanks for the welcome guys.
I did find some threads directed
on the rear brake problem.
Funny thing, I opened the calipers up
all the way with my c-clamp an still had
to take them to the grinder and take about
a 1/4 in. off to get them over the disc.
Tight is right in most cases, but this was just
silly. Thanks Auto-bone.
When I get it figured out, I will post the results.
Any inlightenment will be most welcome, thanks again, Al.

Here's the scoop.
New Master cyl... New Calipers...
Seems to be fine now.
Get this. $45 per wheel for rebuilt calipers,
$47 core charge per wheel. Is that some crazy sh*t or what?
Took the old ones back, $101.75. Thanks very much...
Moral of the story, don't let your S-10 blazer sit for 1 1/2 years
without using the brakes.
Oh well, what did I expect?
I was driving by after doing a job and saw it sitting under a stand
of oak trees, covered in black sh*t.
I will try to post a few pics, It cleaned up really very nice. Bright red.
Interior was very nice, broken tiltback, driver side. AND LOADED! $1300, Sweet.
