Default Noob in Brooklyn 82 Jimmy

Hi,

I just picked up a new Jimmy (you guys accept Jimmys right?). Looks like the PO did some rough work and all the wiring is shot and cheap paint job but otherwise the car runs well and the transmission is holding up well. The PO did put a new carpet in and the interior looks decent except for a couple of parts. It also had the wrong starter attached so it was grinding on every start, there was some change to the steering column as well. It runs well, I drove it home from nevada to new york

Ac Is not working and will need some help with that. It also appears the PO disengaged the charcoal canister and also put some CA type emissions device on the engine.

I have some super basic questions from not having the owners manual

Where is the jack in case I get a flat?

Where ca i get an owners manual, to be honest i have no idea how to engage 4wd from the lever on the floor, do i have to put in neutral or park first?

I've also ordered the rochester manual because the car is burning gas like its 1992.

Did the 82 have cruise control?

Thanks

I assume you are talking about Brooklyn NY and if you are welcome from another New Yorker. I am out on Long Island but lived in Bay Ridge until I was 12. I still try to get back every once in a while.

Thanks for the salutations. Anyone know if there is a particular where I should post these questions?

is that the pic of the truck? looks pretty clean. the 4wd if it has the 203 t-case you'll want to engage at a stop. most of the older transfer cases were like that. for 4lo you would want to be in neutral. the jack should either be under the hood on the right side fender (sititng in the driver seat) or on the blazer/jimmys it could be in the back behind the 31" spare.

what motor you got? i got a manual for a 6.2L pdf

82 could have cruise. do you have a little black button on the end of the turnsignal staulk?
