Were the surfaces of the axles where the seals are located in good condition? Are there grooves? Are they rough so that they wear out the seals? Have you confirmed the sizes?

That sounds like something Dorman might have. I have not heard of such a product for a drive axle, but I also have not searched for one.

Is it cost that is your worry? You have already done the job before to remove the axle shaft to replace the seal. I got what I think was a fair price from O'Reilly's for a shaft that came with a seal and a diff cover gasket. If you can wait, Rock Auto probably has some good deals.

I have a brand new axle shaft in there and the surface was nice and smooth so I’m not understanding why it’s having this issue and the breather for the rear differential is also cleaned out

Wow! That doesn't make sense at all.

These are ideas that popped into my head that might explain it. None of them seem likely, but it has to be something!
  • Have you used the same parts each time you replaced the seal? Perhaps the manufacturer made an error with the part or the box.
  • Could you have bern sold the wrong axle shaft?
  • Did you happen to measure the OD of the shaft's sealing surface to compare with ID of the seal?
  • Could there be a leak where the metal ring of the seal mates with the axle housing?
  • With the diff cover off, were you able to confirm the breather tube was open all the way to the axle body by blowing air through it?
