Saying Hi From Chicago!
Hi everyone, Im from Chicagoland area I dont know if my kind is welcome around here figured Id give it a shot, I own a '97 GMC Jimmy SLS with 246k on it yeah I know
But good news is that it was a DD that the motor blew at 100k and still was under warranty! It got a crate motor courtesy of GM before I got it. I just resurrected it over the harsh winter she sat for 2 years while my buddy was at college and driving his 95 Jeep YJ. It needed a battery, radiator and 2 front tires. I did all that and while sitting the fuel lines rotted through went to get the quick disconnect off of the pump assembly snapped a nipple off replaced the lines and pump coated the tank with POR15 while I had it out. Got it all back together took some ether cranked it like crazy got her running and then realized that it was missing to o2's got those she runs great. Drove it home and it was like I was driving a boat literally, a gear box, idler arm pitman arm inner and outer tie rods and a 4 ball joints and 2 wheel bearings, wheel alignment now she goes straight. Shes not the prettiest thing ever but she was our high school non lifted mud truck, it has BFG tko All terrains. Well hope that I'm welcomed in!
