how bad/long was your spider leaking? did you replace spark plugs etc too? when my fuel pressure regulator went out in my '94 it filled the cylinders with fuel and as a result the engine would not turn over (gas doesn't compress). At first I thought it was starter too took it off and took it to autozone to be tested and it was fine. When i did my fpr as i pulled the old plugs i tapped the key to blow the fuel out of the cylinders one by one.
If you have the starter off autozone or advance will test it for free if you think that is the problem.
