Default Thinking of buying 2022 Blazer RS need info

Hi all! I'm thinking really hard about buying a 2022 Blazer RS I found in the perfect color. I've done my research on different years and they all seem to have electrical issues or some recall. I checked the VIN and there are no open recalls. Can somebody or anybody give me some advice as to whether this would be a decent purchase for me? I'm female and despise having to have my vehicle towed to the Dealership for issues all the time. HELP ME DECIDE!

Welcome to the forum!

The newer Blazer's are sharp looking vehicles. When we were looking a few years ago they were too small to be moving our sons back and forth from college with so we went with a 2022 Traverse and it has been excellent.

Only minor annoyance with our Traverse has to do with the brakes getting noisey when trying to come to a lazy stop. Get on the brakes harder and it immediately quiets down. Still factory brakes & tires at almost 40,000 miles now so I can't complain much about it. It is a known issue with the smaller GM suvs though so you may experience that if you choose to go with the Blazer. I mention it simply as an annoyance that has no bearing on performance or longevity.

There are a few members with the new suvs here so hopefully they can chime in. I haven't seen very many posts on electrical issues here for the newer models.

On any newer vehicle, I would recommend some form of extended warranty that includes the electronics from a major warranty provider with good reviews. It pays to do your homework here. There are so many systems on the newer vehicles that it can get expensive quick.

Well, I ended up buying the 2023 Blazer 3LT..paid for it...got in it and was heading back home which is a 2.5 hour drive. ..got exactly 25 miles and check engine light on and lost power. I pulled over on the Interstate and called the Dealership to tell what happened. They finally showed up with a loaner I could drive home but no tow truck as I had told them they'd need one. I just headed back home. I looked up the code because I had my scan tool with me and checked the code. It was a P0700 code which is tranny related but with that code alone and no others, it could be six different things.
Ugh. Not a good first impression. It has 20,000 miles on it. Has anyone else had this code ONLY?

UPDATE: So, it has been in the Dealership SHOP since 30 minutes after I bought and paid for it. That was March 8. Today is March 13 and I got a message saying mine would be the first in line TODAY to pull the tranny and begin to fix the problem. Mind you...my VIN was NOT one that had the recall for the sun gear in tranny...we'll see how much longer this takes. Just glad I made SURE I got the 5 yr/1000,000 mile warranty and 36K electronics warranty.

Extended warranty aside, it is on the dealership to make this correct and it shouldn't be on the extended warranty for coverage as your 'new-to-you' vehicle should still be under the factory 3 year or 36,000 mile bumper to bumper warranty. I believe that the transmission (as part of the powertrain) has an even further factory warranty as well.

It does stink to have to go through this, but hopefully they have you in a decently comparable loaner. And I would be pushing for a new replacement transmission if there are hard parts involved in the repair. The vehicle is for all purposes still new and you should not have to worry about the quality of the repair if the transmission needs to be torn down to do it.

Yes..they gave me a 2024 Equinox..not the power I like but it'll do until I get my Blazer. Yes..still under the 36K bumper to bumper. The drivetrain (tranny included) has the 100,000, 5yr warranty. I'm not worried about having to pay for anything...it just stinks as you say.
