Which is better, supercharging or turbocharging?

I'm more for the supercharger on the blazer. but if I recall doesn't someone on here have a blazer extreme 4.3L turboed?

I know this is reviving a dead thread, but what about Twincharging?

It's been done... I can't remember what the company was that was getting 1100 rwhp out of a Shelby GT 500 a few years back... stock internals and trans.
Twin turbo and stock supercharger w/ different pulley...
IMO it's sort of the best of both worlds... but that's ALOT of boost for a 4.3L

My buddy has a 03 cobra mustang convertible that is currently being twincharged. stock supercharger and twin 61mm turbos. he's expecting about 1000 HP in this. he already has a roll cage installed, in a convertible haha. He's a crazy ex army guy who just got back state side about 3 months ago and we got to work on the mustang.
I personally love superchargers, turbos aren't my favorite but thats also because there are about 50 srt4 neons near me, most of which have obnoxious BOV's

It's really a toss up either way. Most people turbo because it's pure boost, where as a supercharger takes power to make power. Thing about turbo is making sure you have it set right, other wise you'll have firey red parts flying out you exhaust. (guy I knew ran a civic with a turbo, wasn't pretty when it took a sh** going about 130 on the highway.)
where as supercharger are easier to install and maintain it seems. But with chargers you have to watch your cam set-up other wise you get blower surge and that can make it fun/hard to drive. Such as lurching at idle, tires breaking loose on take off, etc. But it sure sounds good though! IMHO it's all in what you want and what your goals and wallet allow. Seems like the 4.3's do pretty well on forced induction it seems.
One of the mechanics that services the trucks at work had a old camaro with a 454 built with charger and bird catcher stickin through the hood. It chirped the tires with every lope of the cam! He's sellin that motor cause the guy that built it did it wrong and going with a 502, all motor this time. And he was only on like 6psi boost. Had pullies to make around 12 or 15 psi but he said he couldn't keep it straight at that level. Anyways, yeah it's really a half and half thing. I prefer chargers on trucks, but the cyclones and typhoons were decent turboed systems.

SCREWED!!!!!! BUY THE LIME GREEN JIMMY AND SUPER IT!!!!! that would be amazing! anyways, if i ever figure out the money, i plan on either v8 swap or major supercharge with built motor. obviously i'll post it up here. i don't plan on leaving the blazer forum unless someone offers me 30 grand or more for it or its totaled somehow

If only you knew how bad I wanted that Jimmy with the V8...
but your never leaving the forum completly. Someone has to be the unofficial electrical guru around here. And I know I good bit, but you've got me beat. Just cause you don't have a blazer doesn't mean you can't hang out. Look at Oktain, hell no one even knew The Brettster even had a blazer untill he posted a couple pics cause he's always working on his fullsize lifted...er prerunner truck.

back to thread.. probably 4 years away at this point. i plan on supercharging my blazer. local shop around me who does all the corvettes, camaros, trans ams, and LS block cars better known as Katech, said its possible to do it, just a little more work and lots of money. plus, i know the owners of Vector Motorsports who is across the street from Katech, and would love to play with the 4.3L//
so, obviously my vote is supercharging

Yeah make mine a vote for supercharger also. I've seen too much bad things happen with turbos. Too many small parts and seals and such too keep an eye on to me. Plus how could you not like something that sounds like this?... (and it's a S-series vehicle)
