haha I didn't mean its not good to have it in 4wd when you get new tires. I was saying my mud tires were so good I haven't had the need to put it in 4wd

i am currently running stock everything on my 2wheel drive 2 door but i want to lock it up in the rear and put on some more aggressive tires on it hopefully 31s or 32s with t-bars cranked for some mild-intermediate wheeling... any suggestions on lockers or tires?

i dont know how 2wds move in the mud. i broke my tcase a few days ago, and even with a locked rear i could barely moved. i got strapped out couldnt steer and any kinda incline i couldnt climb. the front tires just get gummed up with crap and the truck just doesnt wanna steer. though this was some really nasty ice like clay mud

Your 2 wheel drive truck does not have torsion bars it has coil springs in the front. You are going to have to look into lifting springs or spacers for the front suspension. Sorry about that. If your truck has an open diff and you do not want to pull the gears in the rear you could look into a Power Trax Lock Right unit. The sky is the limit with the tires. Good luck.

this was my 96 F-150. it was 2WD, but i used to mud it all the time, its not hard if you know what your doing, and know your limits with no 4x4. (oh god a ford shoot me, my grandpa worked for them for 38 years so im somewhat partial)

lifted 2in front, 3in rear (springs in the front, shackles in the rear) 33X12.5 Dunlop Mud Rovers in the rear, 32x11.5 BFG A/T's in the front. went through **** pretty damned good, i had a few people surprised that it was only 2WD. (it helped a bit that we welded the rear gear)
