I have to agree with these guys, 2WD can get you pretty far. It's all about how you drive, your confidence in your skills, and the areas you're going to. I've used 2WD to get to alot of the trails i go running on out in the Pineys, although they are hard-packed dirt trails for the most part. 4WD is an instrument, and just like all instruments, it's all about how they are played. Do what you can to the 2WD, it may be more than enough for you applications.

i thought 2000 was still 5.2

man i say go for it! theres nothing wrong with a little lift on a 2 wheel drive and some bigger tires. if you were going all out i would say don't do it but doesn't sound like thats the way your going! and sorry but i totally disagree with cr8390! i live in ohio and drive my blazer thro the winter. i've even put on wider tires and i drove thro good 8-10 inches of snow this year with no problems and i have a open diff (witch is sometimes better for snow, sometimes worse!). i'd say go for it willy! you should make it a rally blazer! ;)

Exactly. Two wheel drive will go ANYHWERE a 4x4 will, if you know how to drive it :)

Back to the original question: Yeah man go for it, it's your truck so it's all about you!!

Have fun with it!
