Default AWD vs. 4WD

My blazer is Awd and off roading just isn't as fun in it as it is in 4wd trucks and SUV's...thoughts?

I don't think awd is really meant for wheelin, mudding, ect. I think 4x4 are usually more heavy duty but I'm not sure

To me there's 3 kinds of drives... AWD - a Subaru etc, 4 wd - a stock 4wd which probably isn't four wheel drive anyway & a 4x4 - something with at least 1 locker, lifted, non stock tires, suspension etc, the owner & off road equiptment to go with it

Yeah, 4wd seems more fun.

at least 4wd, wait until I decide if I'm going to change from the 3"BL, 2" shackels & 1.5" tbar twist, 32" tires & go all out IE http://www.diversifiedcreations.com/...uctsSASKit.asp
that'll be sick!

But keeping with OP, awd is a good daily commuter in the city, IMO = thats it.

What do you mean by not as fun? Also, what vehicle are you talking about? I didn't realize they made an awd blazer. I thought only the Bravadas have awd..

As far as I know Blazers don't have a awd option I'm assuming he means a Bravada unless he modded his blazer or something.

No they do...I have a 1996 Blazer AWD...there is no switching into 4wd and there is about 5 decals that say "this is an AWD vehicle" "dont test on a rear wheel dyno system" and all that stuff
