Question Rare Stock Locking Diff?

Hello I was looking at my built sheet on my blazer and it looks to be fully loaded. Well any I seen under the options on the vehicle LOCKING DIFFERENTIAL-REAR AXLE----252.00 I was just wondering what kind of locker it had. Is it a posi or like the Zr2s where it will kick off above 30 mph?? Also it says REAR AXLE 3.42 RATIO what does that mean it says no charge by it, so it part because of the locker?

Sounds like you've got the G80 in there, same as the ZR2's. Check the RPO codes in the glove box and you'll know for sure. 3.42 is your gear ratio.

what do you look at in the glove box all it looks like is a bunch of numbers lol

Never Mind I stared at it for a while and figured it out it is a g80 which is very cool

did they make ZR2's in 96??

im not sure if they made zr2's or not in 96,but if u had a zr2 you would have the zr2 rpo code in ur glove box, stamped on the inner fenders, itd be lifted and it would have a ladder frame and i think zr2's are 2dr only.

ZR2s were 3.73 only.

But I think 96 was the first year for the Zr2 package?

It was the stock ratio on most versions. A lower differential (bigger numbers i.e 3.73) will give more performance while a higher one (smaller numbers i.e 3.42) will give better economy.

ZR2's came with 3.73's and rumor has it SOME S-10's came with 4.11's. I've yet to hear of anyone that has the 4.11's, though.
